Mrs Esther Engelbrecht
I am Esther, an HPCSA Registered Counsellor offering a warm, confidential, and compassionate space to explore whatever personal challenges bring you to counselling. I believe that openly sharing your unique life experiences with an attentive, supportive listener can foster meaningful self-discovery and positive changes in your everyday functioning. Within my registered scope of practice as a primary-level practitioner, my approach focuses on short-term, preventative interventions tailored to enhance your general well-being. To do this, I draw upon techniques from evidence-based models, including person-centred principles, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. I also incorporate BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT®) as a structured, neuroscience-based method designed to help individuals manage distressing everyday emotional triggers privately, without the necessity of recounting or re-visiting detailed past events. Additionally, for those who wish to express and explore their feelings creatively, I offer the optional use of art materials during our conversations, requiring no prior artistic skills. I provide supportive counselling and screening for individuals navigating life’s daily stressors, including everyday anxiety management, adjustment to major life transitions, grief, relationship stress, and general personal development. My ultimate goal is to provide you with practical coping strategies, mindfulness tools, and sustainable self-care habits that empower you to gain clarity, build personal resilience, and navigate life's daily path with confidence.
